Happy New Year From Rinat Youth!

December was all about latkes! We are happy to announce that LatkeFest was an amazing success and we hope that even more people will come next year so we can fill up the new social hall. We would like to congratulate everyone who participated and had a great time. We had too many winners in Latke-Bingo to name names, but we would like to congratulate Eric Gulich on winning our annual dreideling competition. Eric defeated Ronit Gorelik and was the only returning member from last year's elite eight. We would also like to thank all the kids and adults who partcipated in the latke eating competition. Seth Feuerstein-Rudin defeated a pool of able competitors in the adult division. There were a ton of ties in the younger division as most of the children struggled to get through two latkes! The entire competitive eating competition was very moving... as in moving us to never do it again!

The final Melovie Malka for 2009 was recheduled for January 2nd for grades 2nd through 6th grades and is now the first Melovie Malka of 2010. Bar-B-Que & and a Movie will take place on January 2nd. We're sure it will be a great success.

Early January is usually reserved for Youth meals and this year is no different. Due to an aggressive e-mail campaign we can already announce that this year's meals over the first weekend in January will be an amazing success with over 40 children participating. There will also be a Friday night dinner on February 5th, Parshat Yitro, for grades 4-6.

Divsha and I would like to thank all the group leaders for their hard work this year. Your love for the children in our shul is evident in the hard work that you do every week.

If you have any questions or concerns about how groups are being run, please talk to Divsha or Martin. You can speak to us after groups or contact us via e-mail at dmtollinsky [at] gmail [dot] com.
