About Rinat.org 2.0

There's so much to do on the new Rinat.org - take it all in slowly at your own pace, or jump right in.

Members can contact and network with each other by searching our online directory of members and their skill sets, by participating in committees and forums, and lots more. While you must be logged in (and a member or affiliate member) to interact with other members, you can access all announcements, the calendar of events and the regular Weekly Brief and calendar without being logged in.

Do take a moment to upload a photo of yourself to personalize your Contact page;  it is accessed on your My Account, page under Edit. The skill set information you provide (as part of the Networking @ Rinat initiative) can also be edited and maintained under My Account and is immediately searchable by the membership - it's a great way to network, or to find another member you just met in shul to send them an email without having to know their email address! You can control what information is visible to other members by clicking one of the edit categories shown, then reviewing the information in each category.

Rinat.org now automatically informs members of new postings of interest. All new users were subscribed to receive Shiva Notices from the Aveilut Committee (in place of Shiva Cards which are no longer mailed) and Religious Services/זמנים announcements from the shul office through the website's email notifications system. After logging in, click My Account, then notifications, and you can subscribe to additional notices, such as Adult Ed opportunities, Rinat Events held in our shul, and Community Events, too; then click Subscriptions to manage how often (immediately, daily, twice daily, etc.) you are contacted.

NOTE: If you are subscribed to RinatYisrael on Yahoo Groups for notifications, you can easily unsubscribe after setting up your account on Rinat.org by sending an email with the subject Unsubscribe to RinatYisrael-unsubscribe [at] yahoogroups [dot] com .

You can click Request Membership on a committee page if you serve on that committee or are truly interested in taking part (in which case you should include some details of why you want to join for the committee chair to consider). These groups create a collaborative online environment that helps our committees do their good work, and also lets them communicate with the membership through public postings on their various committee pages.

There's lots of information being posted by committees, members and by the shul office, so be sure to come back often and watch for new items in the Recent Updates block on the home page, or click on Recent postings to keep up with the goings-on. On most pages you will see a Subscriptions block that lets you check off options to receive notifications of changes/additions to a specific posting, pages tagged with a specific term, posts to a forum - you can even subscribe to postings made by a particular member by name!

To learn more about the site and how to use it effectively, search by typing  how-to: into the box in the upper right corner of any page after you log in. How-to information will be added and updated from time-to-time as new features roll into the site.

You can also post questions in one of the Website Q&A forums and someone will answer you within 25 hours.

We sincerely hope you enjoy our shul community website, and let us know your suggestions for Rinat.org Version 2.5.
