Tomchei Shabbos of Bergen County
Tomchei Shabbos provides Shabbos meals, as well as food and supplies for Jewish holidays, to any needy Jewish family in Northern New Jersey. The recipients of Tomchei Shabbos include single mothers, Russian immigrants, the elderly, the unemployed, the sick and the disabled. All Tomchei Shabbos drivers and packers are volunteers, so almost the entire budget is allocated directly toward the purchase of food.

The Shifra and Puah Organization
Are you a woman expection your first, second, or even third child? Are you laid up in bed or off you feet on doctor’s orders? Have you just delivered a baby and are deliriously happy-but feeling overwhelmed, physically or emotionally?

The Shifra Puah organization is a network of volunteers located in Teaneck, NJ that provides meals and assistance of any type to anyone who is housebound for pregnancy and to new mothers postpartum.

Sometimes special needs exist in a family when a mother has a new baby. Whether there are dietary considerations, or help such as babysitting, tutoring with homework assignments, or carpooling, a volunteer is always there to help.

Help ward off the postpartum blues - call Shifra Puah and have a meal delivered to your door.

If you require any further details, or wish to be a Shifra Puah volunteer, please call Sara Gruenspect at (201) 801-9020 or Fern Amper at (201) 836-1192.

Eruv
There is an Eruv surrounding much of the Teaneck community.
To check if the Eruv is functional you may call the Eruv Hotline at (201) 530-0222 (on Friday afternoons only) for recorded information.
