I am sure you are aware of the fact that Rise and Dan Landsman have two grandchildren, Benny and Josh, who have an Ashkenazi genetic mutation resulting in Canavan disease. A $1M payment must be made by the end of November to begin production of the FDA green-lit experimental drug in which replacement genes will target the specific cell types affected in Canavan disease. An additional $1.5M will be due in mid-January, when the drug is completed. If the deadlines are not met, the production slot will be passed on and will further delay treatment for the boys. 
I have asked all the Rabbonim of our community to send out a similar letter. As a community linked to one another based on our belief Kol Yisrael Areyvim Zeh Ba’Zeh, we are asking everyone to join the Landsman family and 7 others across the U.S. and Europe by participating in the Cure Canavan Match Campaign. Ask members of your family and friends to join as well. You never know who will respond most graciously. I beg you to read the attached letter of Rabbi Matz in Florida on behalf of a young girl afflicted with a rare genetic disease called SMA type 2 . One individual not connected to the Rabbi’s shul saw the letter and offered to cover the entire $2.2 million that had to be raised. I pray that someone hearing our community need will respond accordingly . In the absence of that let us all join and support the campaign to the best of our ability.
