Rabbi Chayim Gerson
Rabbi Chayim Gerson
Rabbi Chayim Gerson joins us from Congregation Israel of Springfield where he has served as the Assistant Rabbi and Youth Director since 2021. At Congregation Israel, Rabbi Gerson created dynamic programming and fostered learning opportunities and points of connection for all ages and backgrounds.
Rabbi Gerson holds a BA in Psychology from Yeshiva College, an MA in Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School, and received Semicha from RIETS in 2019. Rabbi Gerson studied extensively under Rabbi Baruch Simon and Rabbi Eliakim Koenigsberg, and studied for four years in the Katz Kollel of RIETS. Additionally, Rabbi Gerson was part of the newly-formed REITS-Frisch Kollel from 2019-2020.
Rabbi Gerson has taught Chumash, Halacha, Machshava and Gemara, and founded the Shorashim program for students from non-Yeshiva backgrounds at RKYHS. He currently teaches Halacha, Chassidus and Jewish History at Bruriah High School.
Rabbi Gerson is a warm, inspiring and driven speaker, educator and listener. He seeks to construct and engage genuine connection with Hashem through Talmud Torah, Tefillah, and healthy relationships, and in turn, is constantly roused by those around him to further his own Torah v’Avodah.
Rabbi Gerson can be reached at rabbigerson@rinat.org.
