Security

Its volunteer-based model fills a critical gap in the security needs of the Jewish community and is essential in creating an effective and holistic security architecture.” CSS trains volunteers from within their own communities in professional operational security procedures, including counter-surveillance, surveillance detection and situational awareness.

Security Policy Update - June 2022

Policy:
In light of recent changes in NJ firearms laws which make it possible for citizens to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm, the shul is adopting the following policy:

No one is allowed to bring a firearm or other weapon into Rinat or onto its premises without prior approval by the security committee. We note that anyone carrying a firearm on Rinat's premises without permission may be subject to criminal and/or civil penalties under NJ law.

Anyone who requests such approval will be expected to provide the following:

NJ FID
NJ concealed carry permit
Details of firearms training
Qualification details
Evidence of liability insurance

The security committee will review all relevant information and determine if the applicant is allowed to carry a weapon in Rinat. Anyone approved to carry must inform the security committee and any hired security each time he/she arrives at Rinat with a weapon and follow all other procedures that may be required.

All congregants who are interested in contributing to the security of the shul are urged to volunteer for Rinat's CSS team.
