Our current activities include:

  1. SERVE MEALS for weekday breakfasts and lunches at Eva’s Village's soup kitchen(more info below), located in Paterson.
  2. MENTORSHIP FOR JOB INTERVIEWS, help prepare clients at Eva's Village prepare for job interviews (more info below), located in Paterson.
  3. GIVE OF YOURSELF Volunteer at Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative (BVMI). There is an exciting opportunity to volunteer at this medical facility. BVMI provides primary care to the uninsured working poor in our area. All applicants are fully vetted prior to being accepted as a patient. BVMI is looking for both general and healthcare volunteers. A wide variety of needs and skills would be useful to the facility. A regular commitment is preferred. The facility is open during regular business hours and Thursday nights until 7. A limited number of Sunday opportunities and options to participate remotely are available.
  4. Each year, half a million people in Africa die from malaria, and another 400 million get sick from this disease. Since malaria is generally spread by mosquitoes, a solution as simple as sleeping under a protective mosquito net can dramatically reduce the incidence of this deadly disease. We are partnering with the Against Malaria Foundation to raise money for the purchase of these nets. The Foundation has already provided over 71 million nets, saving countless lives!

It costs only $2 to buy a net, and our goal is for every member of the shul to buy at least one. Please help us achieve 100% participation in this easy life-saving tzedaka!

Click on this link to donate through our Rinat team the Ri-Nets! https://www.AgainstMalaria.com/Ri-netsKIDS: If you missed our event and want a tzedaka box to decorate and use to collect for the nets, you can pick one up any time from the box on the porch of 400 Winthrop Rd. When you fill your tzedaka box, you can drop it off on the porch at the same address.
