Shabbat At Rinat
Shabbat At Rinat
Welcome to Congregation Rinat Yisrael. We are a Modern Orthodox synagogue devoted to making everyone, from all walks of life, feel that they have a home in the Jewish community. Our synagogue is fully wheelchair accessible, with an elevator and restrooms available on every level.
On any given Shabbat, the Hashkama Minyan, the early service, takes place in our Main Sanctuary at 7:00am. The Beit Midrash Service begins at 8:30am, Social Hall Service at 8:45am and our Main Service at 9:00 am in the Main Sanctuary.
Siddurim, chumashim and taleisim can be found in the lobby outside the Main Sanctuary. We are a Modern Orthodox shul, so each service has a separate Men’s and Women’s section. After that, however, you can sit anywhere! At Congregation Rinat Yisrael, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and friendly shul! There are no assigned or reserved seats. Please feel free to sit in any seat that is available.
A Mommy & Me/Tot Shabbat program for ages 0-24 months takes place in the Beit Midrash backroom at 10:45am.
Rinat’s Shabbat morning groups provide a warm and age-appropriate introduction to Shul. The program includes davening (with a focus on learning Shabbat davening), free play and games, and Parashat Hashavua. Our group leaders and youth directors spend time getting to know participants and work to ensure that each child feels comfortable in groups and has the opportunity to socialize and develop friendships.
Our Shadow Program enables us to include youth with special needs in our Shabbat morning programming, allows us to integrate each participant into groups to the appropriate extent, and demonstrates to all of our children the importance of inclusion.
Our Teen Minyan takes place in our social hall on the lower level. The Teen Minyan serves as a Shabbat morning Makom Tefilla for our 7th-12th graders. The minyan was founded with the hope that every teen would feel comfortable and be excited about participating in, and/or leading, different parts of the Shabbat morning services. Under the leadership of Shumel and Leora Bak, along with college age mentors, Teen Minyan averages a crowd of 80-100 teens each Shabbat. The teens have gladly taken ownership over the minyan, serving as Gabbaim, Baalei Tefilah and Kriyah, and occasionally delivering Divrei Torah. The minyan is followed by a delicious Kiddush where the teens are able to socialize and enjoy each other’s company.
Security Notice Our aim is to keep you safe while you are in Rinat. Before taking your seats please locate your closest and backup emergency exit. In case of an emergency evacuation, please use your closest exit, unless instructed otherwise, and move away from the building. In case of other emergencies please follow instructions from the security personnel. Children should be accompanied at all times, either in youth groups or with parents. If you see something suspicious, report it immediately, either to a security team member, usher, or other person in charge. We thank you for your cooperation.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our staff at office@rinat.org, Monday through Friday, at 201-837-2795.
