A MESSAGE FROM RABBI STRAUCHLER
​​​​​​​This Thursday is Rosh Chodesh Shevat. This Wednesday is Yom Kippur Katan. As our captives remain in Gaza and our soldiers remain deployed in the north and south, we ask those who are able to do so to please observe the traditional yom kippur katan fast beginning Wednesday morning. I encourage everyone to devote time during this day to tefillah and tzeaka for am yisrael - and personal teshuva. Please remember today (Tuesday) at mincha to accept the day ahead (Wednesday) as a fast day by inserting the following before taking three steps back at the end of shemonah esrai.
הריני בתענית יחיד מחר יהי רצון שתהא תפלתי ביום תעניתי מקובלת
I hereby accept upon myself a fast tomorrow. May it be God's will that my prayers on my fast day be accepted.
Please note that we plan to have a special mincha on Wednesday afternoon 4:10 PM that will include leining and slichot. 
May our fasting move our hearts and move our world. May Hashem hear our prayers. May our injured heal speedily and completely. May our captives soon regain their freedom. May our soldiers succeed in all their missions and return home safely. May our voices be heard in heaven and on earth.
