The Adult Education and Social Action Committees will present a
lecture in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day featuring Rabbi Saul Berman who will speak on "Selma 1965 : Jewish Lessons from Prison." Rabbi Berman participated in voter registration campaigns and demonstrations in Selma, Alabama during March 1965. Arrested twice, he will share his motivation for that participation and his experiences with both Jews and non-Jews with whom he was incarcerated. This lecture has been generously sponsored by:

BOOKS OF TRIBUTE FOR THE ANNUAL DINNER
The Book of Tribute, which will be given to each honoree after the dinner, is a perfect opportunity for you to express your feelings of appreciation and thoughts about the honorees. The Book of Tribute will not be distributed to the shul, and only they will see the finished results (although they may invite others to look at it).

Mindful Movements in Your Everyday Life Tuesday, February 6 at 8:00pm: A Comprehensive Workshop to Enhance the Physical Well-being of Women of All Ages & Stages
Women of the community, come join Deena Elias, PT, DPT, and Joyce Bendavid, OT, Feldenkrais Practitioner and Shoshana Samuels, Yoetzet Halacha, in enhancing self-awareness of our every day movements. We will explore ways to promote holistic physical well-being, identify and prevent injuries and pain, promote healing, and navigate common obstacles that arise throughout a woman’s busy day. This interactive session will address actions, posture, body mechanics and the role of core strength throughout different life stages including: emerging adulthood, pregnancy, post-partum, menopause and continued free movements as older adults. Participants will take home practical tips to improve day-to-day activities from lifting packages to carrying a purse, from enhancing physical intimacy to climbing stairs, in a more mindful way.
Mishloach Manot
Nerot will be coordinating communal Mishloach Manot for the shul. Nerot’s Mishloach Manot Campaign is a vital annual fundraiser for Rinat. Once again, we will be using Rinat’s own web site at www.rinat.org/mishloachmanot for processing orders. You just need to log in to your account to place your order. First deadline is Sunday, February 11 at 9:00pm.
The cost per family selected is $3, or only $285 to send to the entire membership. Payment will be processed online via credit card. Bill to account is not an available option for this campaign. Please come to the office to pick up your copy of the directory. Free for full members, $10 for affiliate members, one per family. We are seeking volunteers to distribute the directory on Sundays (chessed hours available), please contact the office for details.

Eva's Village is an organization that helps homeless and working poor in downtown Paterson. Opportunities include volunteering in the soup kitchen for breakfast and lunch on weekdays (January dates available), and in the Workforce Development Program helping with resume writing, interview skills, and basic job search internet skills (Tue & Thur 9am-12pm/Wed 10am-12pm).
